The 2017 Florida Rally will return to Cayo Costa State Park

The 2017 Florida Rally will return to Cayo Costa State Park for a four night experience beginning Feb 6 and returning to the mainland on Feb 10. At this time we have two cabins, 9 and 11, reserved for the four nights and one cabin, 2, for Feb 7 and 8. That is all the cabins that were available for that week. A number of last years folks have chosen to camp and will make their own camping arrangements with Reserve America. Many camping sites still open.

Cabin 9: jim and Linda Heffernan, Uncle Al, Phil Leonard
Cabin 11: Dave and Jane Hepting, John Cadman, AnnMarie Covington
Camping: Pat Kuntz, Ken Butler

We would like to only put four people in each cabin, so Cabin 9 and 11 are booked. However the two night cabin 2 is available for another four persons and of course camping is wide open.

See the Cayo Costa SP site to get details on the park and info on camping, food, transportation etc.
We will have group dinners on the 6th, 7th and 8th. Last night is leftovers and whatever else you bring individually. Linda will put together a Document to organize the meals early in January.

Regarding the Mids, I am assuming a format as in 2016 where the Mids began a Midwinters Fortgnight that culminated with the GWB Regatta, Mon 20 Feb, President’s Day. That would give us the following schedule of events:

• Feb. 3-5                    Wayfarer Midwinters #18
• Feb. 6                       Picnic Sail Across the Lake (this is not a race, so it’s a rally)
• Feb. 7-10                 Cayo Costa Florida Rally
• Feb. 11-12                 W Single-Handed Regatta
• Feb. 18-19, 2017     GWB Regatta

Does this sound right to everyone?
